it will be shit. you have to spend way more than that to get a decent full suspension mtb. maybe you could look at lower range hard tails if you dont want to spend too much?

fair enough mate i wasn't slating you for it. just dont think it would be wise to spend 100 quid on that particular bike.

you dont want a full suspension bike if you are just trying to keep fit. go for a hard tail.

You dont want rear suspension unless your hitting hard trails.

A hardtail frame would be much better for you and you can get a better one for the money.

Don't spend less that £300 and get a brand like specialised, giant or kona

I had a Carrera Banshee from Halfords it was £600 about 7 years ago, full suspension and it was dead soft and bouncy, I was fucked from riding it haha I wanted a hard tail but me mum got me that.

Edit: My point was, my £600 full suspension bike was shite, so that will be even worse

I may or may not buy that, I can always buy a proper one if I use it and it doesn't just sit in the garage.

There is a 99% probability of it sitting in the garage.

John, it will sit in a garage because it will be horrible to ride

With every pedal stroke the rear spring bounces you up and down. I've been there

I quite fancy a bike for the summer, I won't be doing much on it tbh if anything.

I don't want to do my usual and go spend 500 +++ on a bike to not use it.

This is what I was getting at, it proper wears you out, horrible to ride and that was on a £600 bike!

That Kona seems decent, I tried buying a cheap bike a few weeks back and it was just awful to ride so sold it on, worth paying that bit extra id say

may i recommend a carrera fury from halfords

and before all the bike snobs jump in, read any review of this bike, and they all say the same.

if you can order it and get it built elsewhere, it would be a good idea.

I just recently bought a Specalized Hardrock Pro Disk '08.

Really cracking bit of kit, £350 as I got £50 due to a current promotion. Really recommend it as a good base bike to build up from!

People are recommending 4 and 500 quid bikes here, obviosuly the cheap one won't be as good but i'd not expect it to be at under half the price.

There are some amount of bike snobs on here

I had a Giant that cost under £200 IIRC and it was perfectly fine for 15 mile+ a day bike rides over a full weekend. If you want something for mincing about in id suggest you wouldn't have to spend anywhere near £400
