a corsa with a 1.6 8v nova gsi engine with a performance manifold gonna be as quick as a 1.6 sport? i would of thought it would it would be as it would have almost the same power as the sport but more torque

They're under 100bhp IIRC, so no.
Absolutely pointless engine conversion.

I agree with Scott, it won't have as much power, or torque.
Why do you think quite a few Nova's end up with 1.6 16v lumps in them?

The 1.6 8V GTE engine is 100bhp as is the GSI one, a 16v is only a couple of bhp more.
In standard form I would go for the 8v everytime, but if you change the inlet on the 16v then its a different story.

I've had a Corsa GSi and my current E16SE Corsa LS, can't say there would be much between them.
I think mine's fairly nippy for what it is. Cheap conversion to do and maintain and its easy to work on. Can't recommend it enough tbh.
Mine's got a 4 branch manifold, no cat, mongoose system, k&n induction kit and a 16v corsa fuel pump and ran 102bhp on the rollers. Not bad for a 17yr old engine.
