a corsa with a 1.6 8v nova gsi engine with a performance manifold gonna be as quick as a 1.6 sport? i would of thought it would it would be as it would have almost the same power as the sport but more torque

They're under 100bhp IIRC, so no.

Absolutely pointless engine conversion.

I agree with Scott, it won't have as much power, or torque.

Why do you think quite a few Nova's end up with 1.6 16v lumps in them?

Hows it a pointless conversion? There quick in corsas and ideal if your on a budget

The 1.6 8V GTE engine is 100bhp as is the GSI one, a 16v is only a couple of bhp more.
In standard form I would go for the 8v everytime, but if you change the inlet on the 16v then its a different story.

if i get it im gonna strip and false floor the back get harnesses to help complete the look then fit my leather front seats then it will look like ste L's but just with black corsa gsi wheels lol

i had a c16se (100 bhp) engine in mine.had a couple of little bit's done to it and it was as quick as a sport.

the 8v will have more torque low down

I've had a Corsa GSi and my current E16SE Corsa LS, can't say there would be much between them.

I think mine's fairly nippy for what it is. Cheap conversion to do and maintain and its easy to work on. Can't recommend it enough tbh.

Mine's got a 4 branch manifold, no cat, mongoose system, k&n induction kit and a 16v corsa fuel pump and ran 102bhp on the rollers. Not bad for a 17yr old engine.
