as mentions in FINALLY GOT MY EXHUAST FITTED i had 2 windows smashed and got a tailgate from a m8 of mine a diff colour to mine and it looks shit n reli havnt got the money at the min to get it sprayed so i decided to hav a go at smoothing my old boot and get the glass changed over after wards
gotta sand and put sum more filler over the left side of the lock as you can feel the edge of were the lock is other than that is totaly flat
 with 1 coat of paint gotta wet n dry n paint again and laqur a few coats
will post pics up once complete oh just incase any1 wounders ive neva done bodywork in my life till now

too b completely onest m8 isnt hard at all took me 2days to get that done will be hoping to get the rest finnished tomoro and painted the blue paint dose look a bit dodge but i had sprayed it bout 1 minute earlier

id do all the work myself, but get a bodyshop to spray it...

yea look alot nicer than a fully smoothed boot wouldnt bother gettin a body shop 2do it cost 2 much wen u could do it urs self if ur carfull n dnt go to slow so it runs

yea im happy with it so far looks gd but as stated ive neva done bodywork of anykind till now

Practice makes perfect,i want to take the sri badges off the side of my car (recessed into sidestrips) and smooth over them and spray white, similar to the st's.

Better off welding it,the fibreglass will sink and filler will crack after time.

You dont sand paint back before lacquaring.
Lacquar will not fill scratches, if you sand it you'll need to put more colour on.
Why have you taped bits up? You'll need to spray it all in one go to get a good finish.

End product looks good from the pics mate, but like someone said, it will sink and crack in the future...should haver welded it dude!

load of crap that repair is awful just by looking at it. cracker reason why diy bodywork isnt a gd idea

Have to agree. Give it little time and it will sink or crack, should weld a plate in, also i see no filler, and the edges arent feathered out, its just a solid line, you will be able to see it when its painted.

Home Bodywork always makes me laught
people think it is so so easy.
massive hole forget welding it up just put a full tin of fiberglass in there and it will be right
why the hell you have painted the sides and not all of it at once i will never know.
Bodyshop people (like myself) charge for a reason if it was easy we wouldent earn a living

thats what i meant about the repair, way too much filler rubbed away. cant feel it because he has no feelin in his hands for filler and it maybe looks ok with a wet coat of primer on it because its on a curve but it is totally wrong.
dont even wanna talk about the f/glass

Fillers a really hard thing to get a grasp of, ive been at my place 2 and a half years now, and am getting quite good with filler now, dont really do much of it, but its not something you can just slap on and expect to get right straight away
