Well as some may know i treated myself to a Uno Turbo Mk1 as it was the first turbo car and first real quick car i owned from passing my test along time ago
At the time when i was 18 and had the uno my mate pete had a renault 5 turbo phs1 with the rest of the lads having fords.
Well ever since i got my uno pete who is now my buisness partner has wanted to get something old. I have had the flu for about 2 weeks now so have popped on and off ebay where i found the old skool classic.
So my mate put a cheeky bid in and we won it, he got it for a really good price. The bloke who was selling the car on ebay really slagged it off saying it was this and that (think he just got pissed off with it in the end) but then it arrived on the back of the truck we was expecting a nail but we was very suppirsed the car isent in bad shape at all no real rust problems nothing. The bloke had the car for 8 years with is being off the road for 4 years where he replaced the engine an couldent get it to run. Withing 5 mins of it being in are unit we found the timing was 180% out swoped everything around an if fired first time

The car is a 1983 Renault 5 gordini turbo with 88,000miles.
As you can see from the photos the engine is a differant way, its mad the gearbox is on the front of the engine.
It has NO intercooler which is how it came from the factory
Fuel input is a carb which feeds the turbo which feed the inlet its all the wrong way but it works
Car has come with loads of history.

Plans are to total restore the car in the same way i plan on doing the uno
I will let the photos do the talking Enjoy

Some shots the the renaults mad engine setup

The renault has NO exharst tunnel at all as standard to the ran it threw the wing and just under the car

Very cool

French cars have so much more soul than most stuff though...you can see it even in cars as recent as the Williams

That's not a Gordini then. That's a Turbo or a Turbo 2.

Both jaw droppingly brilliant little cars.

That sounds rather weird. Any chance of posting the pic?

The FWD models were badged as Gordini and Gordini Turbo. The RWD wide arched beastie was badged Turbo and Turbo2 For the later edition.

amazing - good work! These are proper classics.

I kinda wish I'd kept my Punto GT cause one day they will be seen in the same light as the Uno Turbo. A good one is pretty rare already.
