i ran up the rear end of a car the other week, a new a3, my premium is sky high at the minute due to my 8 points, iv been told it will rocket next year if i claim because its in the first year of my driving, is this true, and i also think i need my first years no claims bonus, to try and bring it down,
he wants 600 quid cash for it, isit worth it or should i claim?
im really swaying towards paying him, does anyone know how much it goes up after a crash

If you're sure the 600 quid will be the end of things, then do that. But you have no guarantee that he'll take that and not go through insurance for "whiplash".

My insurance has been a pain due to a fault accident. Even with no points *touches wood* it's still a problem.

TBH you are safer going through insurance, but i would fancy paying the guy rather than claiming etc, but as people have said you have no legal comeback if he decides to shaft you.

Yeah, I'd get him to sign a written agreement stipulating that no further action by either party will be entered into. Get him to sign it, then you sign it and give him a copy.

People like having copies of things with their signatures on.

My insurance went up £600 after a claim when I went into the back of someone.

Although I managed to get a premium with another company for £780, £220 less than my original premium before the crash.
