I'm guessing that 570 included some search engine bots etc., we're normally about 300-350 real people at peak times.

It'll comfortably do 1000 so long as they are just reading and replying to threads. If everyone was searching for stuff from years ago perhaps it would be a different story!
Its set up to work well with 'normal' traffic so it's very quick for that but less so for less common operations. That's why search is limited - its either great searches and a laggy board or a quick board with less functionality.

Without looking like a brown nose, its the fatsest forum i use in regards to how quick pages load , How quick it comes up when you select the site.
1000 people is alot of activity, Fucking insane what systems can handle these days.

Same here. I think it's quick due to its simplicity also. If you have 12 billion sub forums it must take longer to load.
We seem to have a good base of people who are usually about to reply to threads too, keeps things from going stagnant.
