bought some today, found it a real pain, didnt get the results expected as it didnt bring back alot of colour, it also seemed to take forever to dry, tbh polish works better and is easier to work with, how many coats should i aplly before i start damaging the paintwork

T-cut isn't about coats, understand what it does before you complain.

It cuts at the paint, doesn't put a coating on it.

It does work, just need plenty of elbow grease.

And by coats, I think he meant 'applications' i.e. for badly faded paint work may be apply once, buff off, then do the same again.

I find the more your use i.e. use generously, the easier it is to see where you've worked etc.

Don't use on hot paint.

Use a damp cloth, preferably something like a towel.

The paint does need protecting afterward, with elbow grease.

What I found totally over rated is Stage 1 of the Megs kit.

At least polish straight after, because essentially you're stripping the paint so it needs protecting.

In the dusk light last night, I had a look at my roof after t-cutting on Sunday. I can see where I haven't pushed so hard and gone so close to the edges. So it'll need masking up next time to do a proper job. The roof is probably the hardest to do, because you can't get much pressure (well I can't being 5'6"). I should imagine I'd get good results on the bonnet

t-cut is not for wimps and does work well but use a buffer/polisher if your not built like popeye lol

Polishing mop is better, but i found youve gotta put the work in with t-cut or its a waste of time, you need to work it in to the paint, but it depends if the car has been resprayed in some places and theyve used base coat and laquer, if so you will find that it wont make alot of difference, t-cut is only really good for 2k paint which vauxhall used as it progressed into the face lift model so it wouldnt fade as bad

but it still does

My car was covered in some kind of cement dust, i used everything, 5 coats of autogleam paint restorer, the megs one etc and nothing got it off (my old mans got a concourse MG so iv litrally all the cleaning products)

Two hours and abit of elbow grease with the T cut and the car was spotless

i found results poor tbh. Worked well on plastic, crap on metal panels.

Used brand new wet cloth, and cotten cloth to buff.

Do u need to work it hard in on application or just when buffing??
