My mum was over here visiting and rented a car.
She was clocked at 80mph average in a restricted 50mph zone due to roadworks on the M6.
What sorta points/fine is she looking at?
Cheers

She'll get banned then I shoudl think. She might get asked to appear in court, which she could go "by letter". But She'll get banned on her UK licence.

Serious?
I would have thought 6 points and £100 fine?
I went through her like a tonne of bricks like.
HUUUGE yellow signs that fucking FLASH and scroll saying 'MAX SPEED 50MPH' and EVERYONE else on the road looking like their driving in reverse, but still she motors on at 80PMH completely oblivious. Stupid cow.
Old age.....

is she classed as a english citizen? or has she actually emigrated and classed as 'what ever people live in rome are classed as ( )' wont it be just like if we i got caught speeding in france ie and nothing comes of it (if just fine/points) but if banned your just banned in the country you were speeding in.
*i could be spouting shite tbh but just what i thought*

I think the word youre looking for is 'Italian'? lol

I'd say a ban.
Or if shes really lucky, points and a fine.

If she isn't a UK citizen anymore then they will probably just fine her if anything. When I drove through Europe last I dread to think how many cameras I set off

I would say ban, or 6 points + hefty fine.

i doubt a ban is in order. Usually have to be double speed limit or over a 100mph.
Id say a fine and points. Even if shes an italian citizen she still has a valid uk driving liscence and was in England so that will mean squat IMO.
Can i be the first to cheer her for speeding

I just got done for 86mph in a 50.
It was a 60mph zone, but the vehicle i was driving restricted to 50.
I walked away with a 3 month ban and a £300 fine.
