Why would I want to celebrate the death of a Turkish Christian missionairy? What exactly has that got to do with being english?

Im well up for a bank holiday and a day to celebrate the people of this country -- but im not up for another holiday linked to christianity and monarchy- when I dont believe in either.

I'm celebrating by going to the Pub and watching Barca vs Man Utd.

Or maybe that's just a coincidence and I'm only really going for the football.
