What are the typical day to day traits of your job?

i.e. I'm a sparky and i'm frequently skinning my knuckles on bits of metal, burning myself on hot soldering irons, heat elements etc and banging my head inside units!

I have the same problem with plumbers, chippies, engineers etc etc - always getting ahead of themselves and I have to get em to strip down all their work so I can run my cables in - serves em right

chippies are the worst!

so fooking set in their ways and they just plough on regardless.

Or in one chippies case, do nothing then complain when you put a lintel in above a door frame that he still has to build, because its 7mm too low

plus they get all their sawdust in my cement so i cant use it! Argh

edit - Plasterers are also arseholes, just leave their cut off's of plasterboard everywhere.

Window frame maker

Usually burning arms on the welders when the plates move unexpectedly, or bashing hands on the lengths of profile in the racks.

Or even the div who is supposed to order and sort out the window frames writing stuff down wrong and only noticing as it goes through to the QC bloke.

Picking off requests for commission accounts for financial advisors then setting them up, printing the letter off and logging the work I've done.

Unlike a bank they don't fill in an application form and merely send in an e mail, sometimes with the bare minimum of information. We pull the scanned e mail off and then see what info we have, most of the time we have to look through the systems for existing accounts for that company, or its parent company to see where it needs to go.

Sometimes we need to call them up to confirm details, go through DPA with them. Most don't have a clue. Today I called someone as they had sent in a request on an application form they shouldn't have. Thet also already had an account. There were 2 other names on there so I enquired wether they wanted accounts too. I got a call back asking why I called, instead of telling me wether these people needed accounts some very rude woman started kicking off about an account transfer that I don't even have any dealings with
