really really pissed off, basically i got my car in february and the guy was meant to send off the v5 to dvla, basically he said he sent it off. dvla say they didnt recieve it and told me to wait for the 6 weeks then ring back, they still didnt recieve it and now i cant find my bloody new keepers form, so i need to pay 25quid for a new one(dont care about the money) but it takes from 3 - 6 weeks to come back, and i want to be driving on the 9th may which is less than 3 weeks away, ive been waiting for ages to drive the gti and now its guna be even longer...

Do you have a local DVLA office that you can go to and get it sorted quicker?

no tax = no insurance = endless really... could be from just a fine + 3 points to banned/jail/car being crushed

have you been sent a reminder for your tax? if you have i assume you could get tax online (never done it though so wouldnt know)
didnt realise you could get insurance without tax. still the same potential outcome though i would of thought.

no because im not legally the owner so only the previous guy could tax it, but he doenst have insurance on it, lost the v5, so basically there is no other way to tax it, ill just have to wait another 6 weeks which really makes me mad, nothing in my life goes smooth! been itching to drive the gti since feb and now it wond be until end of may-ish.

You can get insured without tax but if you get caught without the tax your insurance is void, hence the no insurance part.

It wont take 6 weeks for the v5 to be issued, they just say that to cover them selfs you should recive it in a couple of weeks
