ive changed the clocks in my corsa merit and wired up the rev counter but hits the limiter at 4000 revs is that right cause of the engine or cause the clocks are from a 1.0 12v that its not showing the ryt revs????

I think the 1.0 clocks cant be used due to the 1.0 being a 3cylinder

i dunno but i no the clocks came out of a 1.0 cause i took them out myself but rev counter works fine just hits the limiter at 4000 revs in 2nd gear

It isn't reading fine, its reading a lower value as its trying to pick up a 3 cylinder rev pattern, and its now wrong.
You need a set of clocks from a 1.2 upwards, so it has a 4 cylinder rev counter.

I had 12v clocks in my 1.2 8v, they looked good but as you said limeted at 4k
