Fittted me new Toyo R888 to my refurbed binlids which I only picked up for a fiver each today.

I've got my 16" Softstars with wets on so that is covered.

Its 40mm front and 90mm rear, altho the rear sits about 50-60mm cos its stripped.

888's are pretty good in the wet to be honest..... just not standing water

Function over form is my opinion, I wanted 15's and at £5 an alloy who can argue.

if im correct, im sure we had trouble getting heat into them in the wet at donnington.

but never used 888's myself so couldnt comment.

Not keen on softstars as every man and his dog has them thesse days,but even they looked better

But as you say function over form i guess theyre ok

Exactly my reason for my GSi wheels. There aren't the prettiest but they do the job and are all the right size /offset, center bore etc

I understand you getting them cheap, but aren't there much lighter rims available?

There's a lot of material on them, the weight/lack of brake cooling can't be the best choice for track action...
