1. I saw a breeze in a burgundy colour do they do sports in that colour? don't think i've seen one!
2. with corsa C's what does twinport mean? cos the engine appears the same as the 1.2 16v in sxi's
3. Did they do a special edition irmscher sport? seen 2 sports with kits, exhaust, lights and wheels all irmscher and fully colour coded they looked ace
Cheers in advance if anyone knows

Do you mean corsa 'b' or 'c' or 'd' Not as far as i'm aware, some dealers made there own ltd editions iirc.
Irmscher and steinmetz were/are optional extras that you could/can order when ordering your car so some may have just ordered every foreseeable extra, more likely imo, could well be and enthusiast e.g. someone off here who's just bought everything irmscher to try and keep it looking factory.

The Excvlusiv was a limited edition model of Corsa C 1.4 16v, only avaliable in black, came with Irmy bits and bobs from the factory, leather etc - bloody nice imo
Have a look in Whittie's garage (HERE) as he recently got one.

exclusive is the trim, like Breeze, Trip GLS, SRi etc
what are you expecting the mechanic to notice? Vauxhall dont put 8v engines into their cars now, there is no advanatage to do so (all the old stock engines would be long gone) so all would be 16v (except 3 cyclinder 1.0l with 12v), hence the twinport badge, each cylinder as two (twin) ports for inlet and two (twin) ports for the outlet.

o right didn't know that I've not got much of a clue about engines but then doesn't that answer my own question? because atm i'm rolling in a 1.2 16v sxi so that surely has the same engine as a twinport anyway???

imo twinport is just a name not a style, type or characteristic of an engine.
An EcoTec engine (typically 12/16v) is different and a mechanic, or even someone who knew something about Vaux engines would notice the difference
your engine IS a twinport engine (providing my theory is correct) as it has 16v, a 1.2 16V engine is no different to a car with a 1.2 16v with Twinport BADGE stuck on the back - its just a badge
in the same way we see TD on diesel engine cars, there are very few diesels manufactured without a turbo nowadays (LDV vans are an example) but doesnt mean those diesel cars without a TD (or similar for that brand/make) dont have turbos....purely a name/badge

It's something to do with the manifold, and the fact you get more torque up hills.

Somthing to do with blocking one of the branches on the manifold.

From Vaux website:
quote: Twinport technology builds on the standard four-valve technology of Vauxhall's renowned ECOTEC engines. Savings are achieved via a variable intake manifold in combination with a high rate of exhaust gas recirculation. Under 'partial load' the engine receives an additional 25 per cent of its fuel air mixture from the already burnt exhaust gas recycled back into the mix.
The advantages of twinport technology are achieved through a combination of fuel injection and exhaust emission control by three-way catalytic converter technology. This reduces technical complexity and consequently the cost to the customer, making the twinport solution particularly attractive for compact-class cars, as power output and efficient fuel consumption are maintained.
