What a stupid site.
Can't view anything, including cars for sale unless you register.
Limiting the prospective audience just a bit is it not.

Not a bad forum tbh. Well put together and moderated.
Fair enough on the for sale comment, i think that's stupid too. As the site could get more people registering just to view / get in touch with an owner of the car.

this is quite recent though, a few months ago you could look at most (but not all) sections without registering

Its like that for a reason do you not think?
Primarily it prevents random people scouting for cars to steal etc.
Good site ful off info and it only takes 5 mins to sign up.
Use your noggin....

I used my noggin, it's still a shit system.
If you are worried about somebody scouting to steal your car how the fuck do you expect to sell it.
Some sections fair enough but not them all including classifieds.

Remind me why you stick a car for sale on a particular forum? In the hope a member on a forum expresses an interest.
You will find most forums employ this method such as E38 and that one popular forum...no one has criticised that?

I've not looked on E38 for a car or I would have.
Who are the majority of people who join specialist forums?
I would say people who already have them, this is limiting the amount of people looking at the car.
If my way of thinking is totally off I apologise but it just seems stupid to me.

to be honest, if someone is gonna be serious about buying something on the site, they're gonna be willing to register.
I think only time wasters i.e. 'I'm v.interested!' and then dropping out will be typical people who won't want to register imo.

What about if you hadn't thought of them before, got a wee thought of buying one, fancied a look after looking on pistonheads and autotrader, go to cliosport to see who's got what for sale, find out that you need to register then don't bother?
