Starting my PPL(H) soon and wondered if anyone else flys/has flown?? Think the radio control heli's got me a little too excited Starting with a basic 30 min lesson in a Robinson 22! I'm going to shit myself I think!

I see what your saying but theres more chance of being killed in a road accident really. Chances are if the engine packs up you won't feel much anyway!

You can get helicopters for good money , i didnt realise how much they cost.

And you can land where you want as long as you have permission. I have a flat roofed 3 floor house lol.

Youn can get single seater ones that are brand new for under 20k. Its the same ones some rural area paramedics use.

Timbaland, basic course is circa £550 which includes the first two lessons of your PPL(H) and counts towards your license. I'm going to re-evaluate after that because the whole course consists of 27 excerices and is pretty intensive, and obviously not cheap

You can get a two seater kit for around 25k, although I'll be flying the Robinson 22 which is the most popular aircraft (pic below) these cost anywhere around 60-90k.



Would consider buying a kit if all goes well

Your as likely to die with brakes failing in your car as you are to have your engine fail in a chopper.

Awesome, sounds good even if it is expensive. Deffo something alot of people want to do but too scared to admit they cant afford it.
