I worked for the council for aprox 5 weeks this summer (July-Aug), prior to being offered & starting a new (better) job.
Ive just had a letter through the door saying ive been paid too much & owe them just over £100.
Says im to phone to agree a way to pay it back.
I dont work for them any more & hav'nt for 7+ months, should I ignore it or phone up & tell them to get stuffed?

they can be assholes if you dont pay mate
however you can pay back at like £5 a month if you want

You can ignore it, but it wont go away. They'll keep going on about it.
However, the ball is in your court on this one. When this happens with our council, we have the option of paying back a small sum of money every month to pay it off.
I wouldnt ignore it tbh

I worked for Morgan Stanley and they said i owed them around £136 iirc for holiday days that i said i'd work back but didnt.
That was 2 years ago and never heard from them since.
If anything happens, You never got the letter.

It says its to do with an error in NI payments.

Fuck them, Wait til you get a court letter through, Untill then you never received the letter. Or wait til they send one by recorded delivery.

it will cost them more to get the money back from you. Being a council, this may differ.
A mate from a place i used to work at got paid a full months wages after he had left (cock up by payroll)m but they couldnt do anything. the legal costs they would have had to go through would out weigh the wage.
think that makes sense ^
Edit: Just noticed its regarding NI, i'd pay it now for what its worth when you get your pension. (I THINK you have 10 years to make up any NI payments owed)

Paying late contributions
