Think they were rated as an OK car for performance/handling IIRC.

Looks just wouldn't cut it for me though

Oh and Steve, I stand corrected....

A 1.0 L 3-cylinder Family economy version was launched in 1996, and Lotus-tuned suspension was added as well as an exterior refresh

I've just recently sold mine, the best car I've ever had and am affraid to say, would eat 106 GTi's for fun and there's no way one would out handle a Satria....sorry for you 106 Die hard's....got to remember...you never saw any 106 GTi's as pace cars on race tracks but you did see Satria GTi's Hmmm silverstone has plenty of them still today

Here's a link, check my old one out. 168BHP @ the Wheels, Full Black and White Leather retrim. You can ask 7omm who had the Irmscher 2Ltr Turbo Corsa C, It was a minta

http://www.protonownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5844

You can keep reading its progress by the lad who bought it 'ianpbk' It now sports a race manifold, Mitsi Evo injectors and 255 welbro evo fuel pump, new management and the boosts been up'd to 0.7 BAR!

Each to their own tho, I've driven both and there's nothing quite like having an under rated car Wizz all over you 'Fast French Boys'

Insurance is expensive.
Handling is brilliant.
Nice interior
106gti / civic vti's are quicker.
They're about 140bhp??

In standard form they come out of the factory with 136 BHp, which seems respectable but they do have a heavy chasis But on the other hand, like the 106/VTs/VTi's this engine responds really well to breathing mods. this is afterall a Mitsubishi EVO engine without a turbo....Lancer GSR i Believe. So yes you can make them V.fast indeed without supercharging/Turboing.

You can run Evo engine's and running gear straight from one engine bay to the other, no new mounts required, engine looms or gearboxes. the money you spend converting a corsa to a C20XE can easily be spent canverting a Satria GTi or Proton Coupe into a EVO Monster.

But yes insurance group 16 is a killer and you need shares in Shell Petrol Station if you own one. Other than that, i couldn't knock mine at all
