at moment i have a 1.4 corsa sport, ive looked at other cars such as 106s and saxos mainly but just dont do it i love them but the pedals are a killer pressing acclerater when braking doesnt turn me on...
i want the corsa still and i want power!!
now ive bin very subtle with the car as aint into looking much more than a nice clean corsa....gotta get rid of lexarses and angel eye front with mhws and depos soon to finish...
getting myself calibra 16v brakes soon hopefully...cars just bin lowered with a b10 kit although i have a few problems with it
so im setting myself up for a conversion, i know hardly anything about this, but im willing to take it on and learn
thinking of getting a cheap runabout ANY IDEAS???

Not everybody is mechanically minded, and with any conversion, things will go wrong 90% of the time. I couldn't even begin to attempt wiring the Engine loom into the Corsa loom

You dont have to be mechanically minded and the loom is the easiest bit. its colour for colour

Is it easy enough to do. When I got my car my dad showed me how to take the wheel off
Now I've learnt it all.

Oh right, I've never attempted it or seen it, I thought it'd be harder than that

After having one for 12 months, i should have known better

If you use the right mounts (fitting kit) you can go wrong.
You will need an engine hoist and a mate or two to lend a hand lightens the load abit.
It really isn't as big a task as people make out. Its like changing any engine and the loom really is simple

If you've got an engine hoist (or can borrow one) and a 1/2 decent set of tools then no reason why you shouldn't be able to do it.
I XE'd my Nova back in 2000 / 2001, i'd never even had a good look at an XE motor untill i bought an old Astra GTE for the engine / box ect ... i didn't have the internet at the time either, i was just armed with a Nova 16v Conversion guide form REVS magazine !! haha
Took a bit longer than expected, and had a few head scratching moments but it turned out fine in the end.

if the wiring scare's you, i can make a plug an play loom, which all you do would be plug it where the orignal goes

thanks for all the replys guys!
i want to do the conversion to teach myself about cars more...much like vegasphil said about changing the wheels...started with that then it was suspension, changing the oil, replacing the brakes, etc you hate doing it but once ure finished you relise that the experience is priceless. So just need to know just a few things....
What do i need to get for the conversion...should have all the tools, accept the engine hoist but can get hold of one! do the kits contain everything i need?
got a nice garage at the moment to use at home...so im going to start getting things together soon looking at the end of summer so august time...i have 1 mate but his usefull

Its easy if your fairly techincally minded or good at working on cars in the first place.
But ive have seen loads of evidence that shows that your average Joe public seems to struggle with it, i.e. never plumb in the water system right so that it flows into the heater matrix, welding the tie bars back on instead of using bolts, welding the exhaust straight onto the manifold with no flexi joint in so it snap after 5 mins of driving.
Like said if you stop an think about what your doing and are capable of using spanners right it is easy.
