Another option is to ring the RAC / AA and they will give you membership there and then.

Afterall, even if u do get in to the car, how are you planning to start it with no tools or Jump leads?

Right, boot opened (after some hard work) lights are now offf but obv car wont start, what do i do?

Jump start, or if there is a Halfords/car spares near by your going to need to purchase a battery

No chance that the battery will 'recover' enough to get a start imo

You can let it charge if you want, but jump starting is a much better idea, will just start the engine straight away so you can drive on home!

You aint got much choice, if battery is flat. Unless you can bump start it.

Im not going home, im driving 5 misn down the road to a night out :S

cant bump start cos of where its parked

jump start it is, how long will engine need to eb runnign to ensure another start?

Leave it running about 5 minutes or so.

Iv killed the MINi battery about 3 times cos of the amplifiers i iut, Jump start it and its good to go mate.

Once the alternator is running they normally recover quickly. So maybe 10 - 15 mins of driving should do it.

What do others think?

I did exactly the same with my golf, left the side lights on because of no siren when you open the door. Learnt my lesson, never again

esp as tonight im taking out the fuses to disable the side lights, partly thru fear of this lol

will let it run for 10 mins to be safe

because its a golf and when you dont use the locks for more than 3 months they pack up and go home!

if you leave it long enought the window regulator will snap and the window will fall done and you shall gain access............

i used to get around this by not locking my doors before i had a car that was worth anything.

I was surprised on my skoda how easy it was to open after taking of the door/glass rubber.

Surely the sidelights should alert you they are left on, sure it's turned on/working?
