Can someone give me a tip for getting off the shitty glue that the side strip removing leaves on? You can see in the pics above its pretty bad stuff and dont seem to wanna budge at all!

petrol buddy, and a old credit card or summat keep rubbing on the petrol and use the card to scrape it off

Been and purchased some mid blue t-cut from halfruads, and a 240v buffer. Tommorow will try and get the stips off and faded paint under them to normal.

its easy with a toffee wheel to remove them mate.takes about 10 minutes if that.just use tar remover after and its all good

I used bug and tar remover then a hair dryer took ages but was worth it just got to get my arse in gear then i do the drivers side

Well, soaked in white spirit, left for a few mins, scraped with window scraper (plastic side) to NO SUCCESS. Guess will have to get a "TOFFEE WHEEL" and try it!

Rub strips are off, aswel as the glue. White spirit and window scraper worked a treat!

ive heard a rumour that there's some carbon parts on route?

10 valves are lapped in and valves + double valve springs fitted. 6 to go.

Ive also just had a message to say there's a parcel at work for me. That should be the pistolas and rodneys. With a bit of luck

Oh yea, carbon door cards front and rear. Carbon boot inner panel too! Should be here within 10 days!
Im now in the process of buffing the rub-strip fading up to match, also painting the rear drums at the same time
Hope it is the pistons and rods!

Today:
-Rub strip glue off

-Rear drums sent to Dan for shot blasting

-Roof lining removed

-All interior bits removed like seatbelt bolt points, various un-needed bolts, sun visors, handles etc!

-Pillar covers removed

-Tar that was left on the inside of the roof skin removed and cleaned up!

And this stuff arrived:

Well, there will be a few pics of what dan has completed on the head soon. BUT the main hold up is we are waiting for the wosener pistons so we can send it for rebore!

Update:

Well finally, ive had time to finish the head off.

All 16 valves lapped in, new stem seals, 32 new valve springs, 16 new spring caps all fitted.

Then leak tested the ports with petrol to check no leaks. When i did this, i found no 1 exhaust valve to be leaking like a sieve. This was then removed, and found to be cracked very slightly. So in went a spare valve.

Then in went 23 new exhaust/inlet studs and copper nuts.

The heads been fully cleaned up now and packaged up in bubble wrap to keep it clean

Also spoke to Mark (Aka Broster) he has contacted the manufacturer of for the wosener pistons we have ordered and found they were meant to have been sent with the PEC conrods, but they are having factory problems. He will call them again tommorow to find out date for delivery!
As soon as they get here we can send the block for rebore......... exciting
