Ok heres the bonnet:
(not fitted properly, just rested on for pic)




And the manifold:














It isnt identical to the SBD one as we use a much shorter primary due to the lift and duration of the cam you are using, The SBD type uses a very long primary which was designed for their 300 degree cam profile by Kent.

a 288 newman cam has a low lift and ramp rate for the hydraulic lifters and power is smooth and progressive from around 1800 rpm to 7200 rpm. A manifold with short primaries and medium secondaries will suit this spec much better, Its similar to the Lexmaul manifold in its design.

No, why would it be mate?

Its proper T tube, and the nuts are proper seatbelt ones from the inner pillars. When its properly welded it will be part of the car....

ah ok suppose will be ok then.

seen several in the past where they have had a crash and side impact the strut brace has just bent with the impact making the seats useless.

To be honest when on long journeys i will use the proper seatbelt holes for them just to be safe. Maybe at shows etc will put them up on the brace.

Thanks buddy its coming along well now, just waiting on engine removal so i can get the bay cleaned etc. And the new engine in....

Tommorow, the cage will be properly fitted in for final.

Well i plan to have full inside and out re-spray. Same arden blue inside and out with gloss black cage. Then the bolts that hold the cross-bar and door bars in will be arden blue. I want it to be mint!

There will need to be some inside shell work done as its pretty dented in the rear sides etc... nothing fuller wouldnt fix i guess!

I just want it to look really tidy, will get round to it slowly but surely.

Had a little play today got a few bits planned and done some work on the boot too. I dont want to use bonnet pins on the boot as i hate the look of them, so done this:





















Temporary brackets migged on:




Temporary boltwasher made up:








Tommorow the cage will be officially welded in 100% properly as i have been making some brackets for it today.

Also im gonna make some new angle brackets and some washer nuts for the boot closure mechanism thing so its all nice and neat. And add a spring and an rubber o-ring to keep it from rattling.

Will post more pics tommorow or saturday of the completed.

My original plan was to have MINT inside shell, all sprayed up and dent free. But i really dont think thats practical as it will get scratched and dirty all the time. So when cage is in im gonna cover everything a nice layer of satin black rattle can

Manifold is custom made by V Sport to suit my cams and power etc.

I will get the "description" off dave and post it up.

boot looks studs look a little over engineered i did mine without bonnet pins just using nut and bolt down in each corner works a treat

Nut and bolt down in each corner? So they show through the outside of the boot?

Not really over engineered, only took an hour tops to make and fix them on and fibreglass. Will be much better when theyre all cleaned up.

Gonna mesh over the hole from the underside when i get a piece.
Now got a bit of work to do, then onto tidying up my boot mechanism and making some more brackets for my cage, as its getting welded in for final tonight!

Bit of an update on the engine side of things. I have finally found the perfect burs i needed to grind out the head nicely.

I have 1 cam completely done. Havent started the 2nd one yet.

We need a valve spring compressor, as mines fucked
