Its a Rover, its on a par with the engine in your corsa for build quality.

i have an MG ZS 180 and have had an MG ZR 160 and 2 other MGF's and have never had a minutes problem with any of them the diesel rover engine isnt a bad engine they just smoke when some old dear had never reved it above 2000 rpm and dont let people fool you into saying that you cant get parts anymore as that is bollocks as Rover parts is still a running buissnes and go's under X-Part

every week at work we get an alarmingly large amount of people saying 'argh, help! The *name any car part* has fallen off my *name any Rover*

The garage i work for is also a Rover dealer franchise. The term "back order" is getting more and more common

They are 8v's and with a good hybrid turbo can see 150+ bhp with a few choice mods,

my mate had one n was pretty quick but the gearbox went when he was 200 miles from home n had to get towed all the way home ,have heard of a lot of people with them having gearbox problems and burning oil
