i've just got a letter for my tax renewal. on the paperwork is says £99 for 6 months or £180 for 12 months.
Thought i'd do it online so its sorted but online the prices are showing 101.75 for 6months and 185.00 for 12months 
Do i pay a charge for renewing online?

says i'd pay a £2.50 charge if i used a Credit card but no charge if i'm using debit card. I've not even got to selecting which card i'm using and the prices have gone up

What year is the car? tax went up in the budget so anything before 2001 went up £5 for 12 months iirc

It's just because of the budget. Completely shonky business practice and it does smell somewhat, and normally I would suggest complaining. In this case though I don't think you'll get anywhere.

V11's are printed up to 6 weeks in advance of the tax expiring
