Had a quiet weekend, so spent a bit of time on the Mini. Rotated the tyres and cleaned the inside of the wheels whilst they were off the car. Also, took the opportunity to colour code the callipers, so with a mix of smooth blue and smooth white hammerite to get as close to colour of car as possible (think the match is quite good)

Then today, weather was good, so used my new cleaning stuff to clean the car. Process was:

Snow foamed
Wheels cleaned, clayed, polish and sealed
Wash car with Megs Gold Class
Dried with Sonus Towel & Megs Last Touch Detailer
Wire wooled and polish exhaust
Dressed arches with Autoglym bumper care

Heres the pics

Also cleaned the girlfriends new car. Its a brand new 08 reg Ford Fiesta Zetec Blue. Loadsa toys and gadgets and very nice, smooth car.

and a pic of the standard head unit in the fiesta

Opinions welcome (apart from "lower the Mini" because it wouldnt be practical around my area

Considering you've obviously spent so long cleaning the car, I think i'd have spent less time cleaning it, and more time trying to sort the massive scuffs on the alloys .

love the mini, i'd love a cooper s someday, in a bright white colour, although the white wheels look amazing on your's

those fiesta blue things have a really good spec aswell, loads of options plowed into it to sell a few before the new model comes out

headunit is the new sony model available in all new fiestas and that blue surround looks awesome (same with gear gaitor surround and heater surrounds)

Both cars look mint. Not a fan of the white stuff on the Mini's, but there is something about yours.

Both look good I want a Sony HU for my Fiesta but the older version from the Focus. It looks better in my opinion and the display is green to match the rest of the dash lights etc.

girlfriend did it to both wheels over christmas (skidded on some black ice and kurbed both passenger side wheels)

not much can do about the kurbing, needs refurb ideally, but will probs wait til summer

cheers for the comments

Mini is a very high spec, only thing I can think of that isnt on it is air con (seems strange that the person who ordered it brand new picked everything else, but not that)

Lots of different opinions on the fiesta. It is an ideal first car for my girlfriend, loadsa gadgets and a colour that she loves. really easy to drive aswell, smooth gear box, nice clutch, etc. Fiesat has auto headlights/wipers, electric folding mirrors, quickclear windscreen, tinted windows, upgraded alloys, sony headunit, i-pod connection, etc and got a very very VERY good deal on in

keep comments coming

Re-furb is the best bet, but a white touch up stick would do wonders for the time being .

Halfords/motormania... Ebay etc etc. Should only be a few quid tops. I'd even be inclined to check the paint match on the white hammerite you used on the calipers if it's just a short term fix .

Halfords should do one. Might not be specific for the job, but sure you can pick up a white close enough.
