Im a bit pissed at the prospect of having to pay £440 to tax what id class as a semi-fast car.

Personally I had plans of buying something >2001 & >2L (fastish car) next year but frankly I dont see why I should just bow down & pay the robbing bastards their demands.

Just like the Government refuses to play cards with terrorists ransoms, ive decided to level the playing field by refusing to buckle down over the demands of some greedy cock head wanker whos eyebrows dont even match the colour of his hair.

Looks like a fecking school headmaster ffs......ive never been keen on them either!

So the point of this thread, I want to know whats fast, affordable but most of all I want to know whats most harmfull to the environment, spitting out more CO2's than a jumbo jet.

Lets compile a list of cars that are mean & anti green :

Cars that are pretty quick.
Large engine 2L>
Pre 2001 only.
As much shit from the exhaust as possible.
Cap the cost at around £10k?

Buy a 60s or 70s hot rod.

Tax exempt, huge litre V8s, silly power and torque, easy to maintain as they're not full of platic and electronics... do I need to go on?

I've just put 100 miles on the Corsa for no reason.

No idea what the carbon rating is but it was smoking like an old bonfire when I opened the taps.

I read a very funny reply on PH before, someone said their TVR Griffith had gone up £15, like that is going to stop him using it!

You basically need anything pre 2001 and over 1550cc as they're all in exactly the same category. So your average family runabout Focus is the same as said TVR.

I'm curious as to whether you can ring an old car with a car you currently own. Wouldn't even matter if it went on a Q plate because as that normally means that the year of manufacture can't be determined they would surely have to price it lower?

I think they pick on the motorists as they are an easy target, as they cant be bothered to chase all the immigrants around to get the tax off them. I think im with colin on this....Saph cossie time!

anything older than 2001 is £220 or something.....ANYTHING - ford focus or Porsche 911 alike!

>2001 are branded A - L according to CO2 emissions.

Some luke warm cars eg. S3, S2000 etc are going to cost £440 a year. New 4x4's costing around £900 a year!

Sickening.

Think I might get an old 90's TVR next
