Thinking its costing me too much to run, petrol and now tax is stupidily priced. My brother has offered me 6k for it. UK Turbo with Prodrive pack, P1 alloys, EBC brakes, WRC spoiler, Prodrive quickshift, P1 clutch, STi lights.
Quite fancy a Fabia vRS. Do I do it?

You just said you cant afford it so selling would be the obvious option.
Dont get a fabia though.

Road tax shouldnt go silly then as its 2001 & upwards thats getting rebranded.
Still I can see where your coming from regarding fuel etc. I had to get rid of mine for the same reason. Missed it once it was gone but then id only had mine 18 months or so less even. Think you've had yours 3 or 4 years now? Change is always good & I recon a VRS with a remap will still get your cock errect once in a while

Marc...turst me on this...
Don't sell it and especially don't get a Fabia VRS if you do, the performance isn't even in the same league and you wil get bored of the short power band of a diesel.I did and it wasn't long before i missed the rush of the scooby.

Well if its not financially viable sell the Scooby its not like your never going to find another clean one around as these are enthusiastly owned.
Also if you've been offered 6k for it surely thats over book?

He wants better economy as he has said, why no to a vrs?
I was pondering driving mine the other day and was thinking what you come across normally that can beat a remapped one? not much tbh.

What you come across that can beat a remapped VRS?
Quite a lot really.End of the day the VRS is a good car but going from a scooby to one is going to end in dissapointment in the long run.Unless of course the situation is purely financial like you say and then i don't suppose you have much choice.

I went from an MR2 Turbo to a Corsa 1.6 sport so I know all about disspointment, but it's all smiles in the parts/fuel/insurance department

Depends what sort of mileage you do really, I loved my scooby but owning one now would leave me bankrupt

yeah I don't know how much longer I can put up with 1.6 Corsa power after owning the MR2. Been looking at WRX's and Skylines

Exactly. MR2 had 293bhp at the hubs, Corsa is ok, but I want to be back on the Jap turbo scene. Only sold the MR2 to pay off feckin visas
As soon as I can afford a scooby/skyline, I'll sell the corsa to my girlfriend and buy some Jap turbo fun
