Whilst fitting new wiper blades last weekend, i let the drivers side arm with new blade drop whilst the passenger side with no blade was still up.
This knocked the metal arm of the passenger side one down and put a nice foot long crack up my screen. D'oh!
Anyway, been phoning for some prices today. Heard the Autoglass advert on the radio, so called that number straight away.: £431 for a top tint
Called a few others, Rac was £180, National £165.
Cheapest i got was £95 +vat for a normal green tint throughout, or 5'er more for top tint. This was from a localish company.
I've only got TPF+T insurance, so no glass cover, but even then the glass excess might have been £75, and the screen is barely any more.
Crazy amount of fluctuation in prices. How can Autoglass justify almost 4x the price of a local place?
Just a word to anyone in a similar boat to phone a few different companies, as your 1st price is likely to be utter smear.

I might leave mine for 11months before the next mot incase it happens again/more stone chips etc.
I expect you've got Fully comp, but if not try these guys: 0800-197 9916 NOVAT windscreens. Mobile, but have Uxbridge and Loudwater offices.
The £400 is more than my insurance, but the £95+ is not surprisingly less.

Places like autoglass charge those silly prices as there more intrested in insurance work so can charge as much as they like as there always gona get it.
Local places are far cheaper and defo worth going to
