Hi again,
There is a red sept 2000 1.5TD club corsa-b in my local vauxhall garage.
It has covered 78k and has had two owners, the last change of owners in 2003.
Now the price the dealer is looking is £1995, which i think is expensive, but when i go onto to parkers or what car? to get an accurate variation the model doesn't appear to exist???
The question i want to as is what model is it similiar to so i can guage it against that one to get a rough idea of price, or what price do you reckon i should pay?
Thanks for reading.
Cheers

You'll always get higher prices in garages mate.
Depending on condition, you should be paying about £1600 for a minter, and £1000 for one that's been through the wars.
A club doesnt have electric windows / mirrors. It's one of the basic models. It has a sunroof though, i think?

2k is about average for a dealer one that age, especially for the 1.5td.

Is the 1.5TD more desirable then??
Whats so good about it?
I mite offer him 1400 to hear how much he winses lmao then work my way up from there.
I pass the car most nights on the way to my girl friends and he has recently reduced it from 2495 so the chances of getting much more of it are slim tbh but i can i only try.!!

1.5TD is quite desirable in the current climate. As far as I know it'll be by no means fast, even for a TD.
There is a 1.6 Sport in a garage near me, 98k on the clock. Rusty boot, alloy rot alloys. He wants £2195 for it

That is actually very laughable. They are rip - off merchants lyk.
As far as speed is concerned i doesnt really matter because it wil be my first car but i dont want something really slow which is why i really dont want the ordinary 1.7D or 1.0.
What does everybody think, a 1.7D or a 1.5td??

1.5td as if you get bored with the power you can mess around with the fuel and boosting and iirc someone managed 99bhp from one

I used to have a 1.2 16v, and my friends got a 1.7d, they were match for match. Dunno about the 1.5td. havent driven one.

that isn't actually a bad price considering you're going to get a considerable amount of warranty on it; (6 months)?

There is a 1.5td gls in auto trader this week that is black with 70k and a years mot. it also has tigra alloys. AND the person is looking 950 quid, which in my mind is a bargain. the only thing is, is that is 35 miles away as the crow flies which is a bit of a trek to discover that it is a lemon. what do you think?

35 miles isn't far for a car that sounds that good.
Any links for it?

How strange. I tried looking for it, and couldn't find it
Them arches need a bit of attention. If it is as good as the seller describes, I'd undoubtedly get it. Good price that.

go for the 1.5 td over the 1.7, i own the 1.7 and its shit slow (but amazing on juice ) the 1.5td is a fairly nippy engine, a workmate had a stripped out nova with one in and suprised quite a few people how quick it could move and that was without tweaking the boost

Well i bought an episode of total vaux last month which took me through a step by step guide on how to turn up the boost and play with the fuel pumps and stuff to get more power cheaply and it all seemed quite easy.
Do you think the arches would clean up ok with a bit of back to black or auto glym bumper care OR would they need replaced??

They look pretty far gone.
BUT there are plenty of tricks you can use. Bumper care stuff will bring back some colour. Some people have used a heat gun, which effectively burns off all the shit. Be careful not to melt the arches.
I thought today whilst t-cutting my car that you could, in theory, do the same with arches. No idea if it would work though
