Basically iv got a kyosho nitro car that i havent used for aaages

like this one

and do you know what iv completely forgotten how to get the fucking thing working..

Can someone tell me what i have to do lol. From memory you have to pump the little pump to prime it, twist the long metal thing on the carb to open fully, stick the glow plug heater thing on and pull to start, then twist the little knob on the carb again to slow it back down to idle.

Is this right?

Sounds about right. You could try putting your finger over the exhaust and turn the engine over slowly to draw in fuel, then connect the glow thingumy to start it properly.

When did you last use it? If it was quite a while it might not even run at all TBH...

on my brothers you have to loosen the glow plug, then pull the starter cord till fuel comes out the top, put plug back in, but loose, then put heater in and turnover till it fires. idle could be adjusted by his controller though so we dont need to change the carb.

Pump the primer on the tank, gloplug in, try starting it. it its proving difficult, turn the idle screw up a bit and try again. if it still doesnt work try opening and closing the throttle while pulling the pullstart?

the nitro's are a pain to tune, and keep in tune. you might find a new glow plug will help it as they burn out easily, only a few quid. have a search on youtube for nitro setup etc, might not be the same models but the principle applies to all the engines.

if it were me i'd take the glow plug out, pull it a few times to clear the cylinder, stick it back in, finger over the exhaust and pull or pump it til the fuel just reaches the engine, then start it. as for the needle setup, you need to reset them to the stock settings (usually flush), then adjust the high end needle til it has a smooth top speed and plenty of smoke, and so the same for the low speed carb 2nd, til it pulls well and has a decent amount of smoke.

i still have my hpi savage x but i bought one of these, 23cc petrol 1/5th scale hpi baja, awesome!

ps. its not me

It is great fun, I'd sell mine if I got the right price, as I simply don't use it.

Only ever used mine once! Bought it off ebay on a whim

Its a major pain in the ass to get it started and keep it running without stalling the dam thing when the disc brakes kick in

if it stalls when you open the throttle its running too rich which is that screw on the side, almost an idle control, turn it down a bit just make sure you dont turn it down too much otherwise it will go pop
