Has anybody here got a second job, with their first job based on shift work?
Want some extra £££, and the overtime isn't available in work at the moment.
What kind of jobs could allow flexi hours? I've got a rota, just not much of a pattern.

You get shafted for tax on a second job, depending on how much you earn in your first job though.

Cash in hand pizza delivery, I'm tempted to do it on a night when I'm bored. More out of boredom than anything though

I'm gonna be a postman, so finish at 2 every day.
Hoping to get a job in a Bar in a Gym, so i can get free membership, AND bar work is easy when you don't have to deal with drunk people. There won't be too many drunk people at a gym

all this talk of tax on a second job is rubbish, if you earn an extra £100 on a second job you will take home the same as if you had an extra £100 in your top line of your first job.

Yea it doesnt matter both contribute as if working a single job. i.e. Tax contributions are the same, same non tax allowance, same >36k super tax etc. It doesnt matter if you work 1 job or 3, its your overall income that matters.

I used to do pizza delivery when i was at sixth form (i also worked part time for Morrisons). I got £5 per hour + 15p per mile + any tips from customers + choice of food and drink at end of night
Did it in my 1.4 corsa and used about £10, usually did around 70 - 100 miles a night and would be earning at least £25 a night. Good money considering I got to do something I love to do - drive

You end up having to pay the cost of petrol + wear/tear to your vehicle, and a lot of insurance companies will not cover you for it.
Where as if they supply the car, all is good
