where can i get one?

will any normal garage do one?
what do they normally check?
how much do they cost roughly?

not really worth the cost, have you got AA membership might be worth giving them a call and ask them to come out and inspect your car. Although its extra money you dont really want to spend?

To resolve the matter I would go to citizens Advice see wahat they say, and if t you are desperate to fix you car I would go down the route of replacing the engine with any 1.4 16v and then sending the garrage the bill for it inclusive of a refund for their incompetence.

Lets not encourage the poor lad to spend more money on his car, i'd be sick of it by now

trading standard have told me to get the engine checked and get an engineers report

if the engine has failed or looks like it has not been rebuilt i can claim the full amount for a full rebuild which i am getting quotes for around £1200-1500
