Pump some speed camera money into fuel, then we can pay £1 a litre again!

they did the same in last years budget; its a bit crafty as everyone forgets about it and then it looks like its not a tax increase in 6 months time, but just a general increase.
My gripe is that a 2p rise in fuel duty is actually a 2.35p rise at the pumps, as there is VAT to pay on top of the duty at 17.5%

after the the first official 2p rise last year the price at the pumps has continuned to rise regardless so i wouldnt say it was a great feat them putting it back 6 months as we are already paying way more than 2p from the last hike

its ridiculous to think that there can be another rise when you see what fuel costs in other countries.

Im not too worried about it because when it got silly last time everyone just shut done and protested (Scotland did anyway) and they dropped the price or left it the same.
Found a receipt the other day under my back seat when i was re-fitting my sub wires and it was for petrol in November 2006 for 76.9 a litre. Gutting.

I didn't realise it was that price only 2 years ago. Jeez 30p increase in under 2 years.

I know, Heart wrenching when you look at it like that.
Was watching the american news this morning and in the background of the reporter was a 'gas' station and it worked out at around 49p a litre.
No wonder they cnuts are kicking around in Escalade's and Navigator's.

I know petrol prices are pretty extortionate, but for those of us that have started driving in the last 3 years, it isn't toooo bad, and I use the term loosely.
Granted, when I started driving, it was about 96.9p/litre, so on what I pay now, it has gone up 10p. So based on 30 litres average fill up, it's costing me about £3 more.
However, a 2p rise will only see a 60p rise per time I fill up. I just won't have to buy as many packets of Polo's and I'm ok

Just wait until 2012 when its £1.50+ a litre, you'll be able to dig this post up & remember the 'good days' when it used to only be £1.10

Good news is a 50p reduction in fuel duty per litre, anything less means were still getting raped everytime we fill up.
