in work yesterday
and a colleage was fitting a part to a customers car, i went out to see if he was ok, and noticed the front left tyre.
it wasn't just bald, it was slick, and i mean smooth. ontop of that it had started to crack, so i informed the driver who said ok "woman" then went round drivers side to check that one, sure enuff that was done too, past the wear markers, so told her of that aswell.
the passenger "husband" i assume was pissed off, got in a mood and mubled about like i had just kicked him the balls. whingeing about having to fork out for some tyres.
now not being funny about i sasid national tyres are doing a buy one get one free, "trying to help" and he grumbled about something and slammed the passenger door. at which point i walked off.
its really pissed me off, in the wet there is no way that car would stop. no amount of elctronic gadgertry would help that car, moreso the passenger tyre looked like it could pop at anytime.
it gets worse. it was a mazda mpv kinda thing 55 plate and were kiddies in the back
there one thing killing yourself but to take your kids out and innocent bystanders aswell.
i hope they get stopped and fined and points.
grrrrr, just had to gety it off me chest.
if i had time i would have got the full plate and reported it.
on a side note, i think a new car should have a mot every year from new, as that was a 55 plate its mot would be coming up very soon.
but obviosly the car has been neglected for 3 years previous

idiots. typical idiot's who get stuck in 10,000's worth of debt then moan about it.
i'm assuming they are in debt otherwise they wouldn't be moaning.
i'd put the safety of my kids as my number one priority, even if i didn't have a care in world whether i died or not.

had loads of them mazda's in that have destroyed tyres. through to cords all over.
hate when people moan about tyres as its them who is getting the use out of them. even get people asking why they have worn down.
as for the kids, just plain stupid. for the price of 2 tyres i wouldnt risk my own safety let alone my familys

Theres a father like this at the school I work at. Drives a MASSIVE ML with added chrome, ML500 etc. He does drum teaching at the school, and he has two thread bare front tyres. He carries around his 11 year old and his 5 year old. And its not as if he's gunna change them, they've been like it since I've started passing the car in the staff car park... before Xmas

when i worked at volvo, soem of our customers would sometimes need their car to be picked up by one of our service guys. so i took one of the guys to the car, he got in started driving it to our workplace.
5 mins down the road he gets pulled, for 3 slick tyres 2 with the wire showing, he got 6 points, already had 9 so he lost his licence and his job, he'd been at volvo for over 15 years
the thing that got me is that it was a 56 Plate. at the time it was march 2007

I agree with Adam that new cars should be mot'd just like old cars. Maybe after 20k or something though.
My car will have 70k on the clock before it goes for an MOT. Silly really! Although it will get serviced every 15k or something.

Indeed.
I moan about the price of fuel as a big chunk of my wages goes towards it. OK, i have a bit saved, but i don't wanna be spending that on fuel. I don't even want to be spending it on another car that some bastard will damage.
Rubber on the other hand is not that expensive and it's the only thing holding you to the road. Guy should think of his kiddies when they are either killed or loose a mother.
