Heard about this a while back and just found the thread, maybe a repost not sure. Its the story about the 18 year old taking his dads m5 out, crashing and killing himself and 4 others. He was on this forum asking questions prior to the accident, the thread includes news links to the write up on his death..Really quite a sad read considering what happened.

Just weird reading his replies, then you watch the news videos and read the write up and it hits you that this guy who typed replies hours earlier is now dead, just shows you never know when your times up.

I think something like that happened on ClubPolo too, some chap had agreed to meet a member to sell some parts but this guy never showed up. Everyone called him a scammer and a timewaster but what had really happened was he was on his way but was in a car crash and put in a coma. I think it was ClubPolo anyways.

Its terrible, killed 4 other lads aswell. To be honest tho he must have been fucking flyin as the car was unrecognisable nearly, they never stood a chance.I uses to be a bit of a silly driver, had a fast car as my first car and i had a few close scrapes but thankfully iv grown out of that now, could quite of easily been me.

I suppose you sort of know your time is probably/possibly up when you're a silly 18 year old American chap and you take yer Dad's V10 M5 to an airstrip at night with a load of mates in the car and probably a load of booze and/or ganja in yer blood.

i meant the 4 other lads who died, should of made that more clear really. They would of got in that car that night thinking they were only going for a drive, not knowing they will never return home

quote:
Florida Highway Patrol Capt. Jeff Succi said said there were yaw marks at the end of the runway, indicating that the car turned sideways before launching over an embankment. It then sailed through the air about 200 feet before slamming into a large tree.

They believe it traveled over the 80- to 85-foot embankment at the end of the airstrip and struck the tree about 15 feet above the ground. The car broke into two pieces upon impact.

Three of victims were ejected. Two were partially ejected, FHP offcials said. It is not yet known whether any or all of the victims were wearing seat belts.

That car is proper fuckd up, about the only way you can tell its an m5 from this pic.

Reminds me of this...

http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0100regionalnews/tm_method=full%26objectid=12412717%26siteid=50061-name_page.html#story_continue

Always think of this when I hear of young people being killed behind the wheel, such a loss. The lads in this car where mates of mine, knew Michael Murray since I can remember! Such a shame! Skyline was speedin at about 90 in a 30 and hit them as they came out of a junction, he done a runner from the scene, the Orion which my mates where in was smashed into from one side then hit a Volvo on the rebound.

Liverpool people might remember this, made front page of the Echo anyway. Also when Stephen Standish, another mate of mine, was killed in a car crash by the Britannia pub, when he hit a railing, foolishly racing! Lost too many mates me

The standard of BMW build quality must have really dropped off over the years.
