Discussing with my old man the other day.
If you are in some form of accident, and are so badly injured that you are paralysed, or even in a vegative state, the most you will receive in compensation is £250,000 (plus caring costs for the rest of your life).
But if you slander someone and take them to court, you can receive millions and millions on pounds.....
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm 
Yet if you go to the USA, you will be paid a huge sum of money straight away. In the UK you will have to wait years and years to receive anything (Unless your insurance company gives you handouts until you get full payment (minus payouts)).

my mate has lost most of the feeling in his legs and cant support himself under his own weight due a accident at work and he recieved a couple of million for it.

I know a lad that damaged his hand badly in work machinery, he needed alot of reconstructive surgery on it, and he still hasnt got full feeling back.He got about 700,000 compo.

Not sure if thats true. I know a lad that had a crash in a golf. It ruined half his brain and it was a lorry drivers fault. He's told to expect near the 1,000,000 mark for compo.
