Will I feck my 2002 Golf putting in oil thats for a newer Audi?

If so recon I can drive around ok for a few days until I can get some oil?

You should put in proper vw spec stuff but whatever you've got will work fine tbh.

Newer audi stuff will be at least as high spec so will work fine.

tbh just look in the handbook at the oil they specific and the numbers that go with it.

Look at the oil you have and see if its roughly the same spec in terms of aprt numbers

think its .07 for the PD units

If your on a varibale interval service you need to use the proper stuff as it has minerals in it that decale with wear and time thus calculates your service intervals

Castrol mate..

If the oils longlife oil (either 2 or 3) you'll be fine to top it up with that.

For reference. Cars on a longlife service regime can top up thier oil with a maximum of 1lt of non longlife oil (fully synth tho) and it should affect it. (according to Vdub)

Thats what im using in the ibiza, Halfords wanted nearly £45 for the castrol stuff, went to the motorfactors nar work and got the comma stuff for £18, and it runs smoother too.

Bit dodgy that Colin. Get it filled up with the proper stuff ASAP.

I wouldn't wanna drive my car with little oil in. Always keep a litre in the boot just incase.

Mine could do with an oil change tbh. Almost on 10k now.

Got a litre of that castrol stuff from Halfords (£12.99) & stuck half of it in. See how long that lasts.

Diesels use a bit of oil apparently, my old mans Audi needs 1/2L ever couple thou. Thats the 1st ive put in & it was serviced around 6k miles ago. 100k service is looming
