I attended an industry launch of the all new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X at Prodrive, Warwick yesterday.
I got to drive the new Evo in all its 3 power formats in different scenarios;
- Track
- Skidpan
- Close control/road rally
Capable car, toned down somewhat...purists will probably not enjoy the car then previous models. Alot of technology too like ACD, AYD, S-AWC, ASC, SPORT ABS etc..
One car was crashed, but no pictures....and the culprit was a police buyer.:hysterical:

The Lancer is a peach to drive tbh, not driven the Scooby as yet so cant make a comparison between the 2. The SST gearbox in the lancer is a neat bit of kit, but you lose part of teh driving experience imo.
Lack of sound deadening and low grade plastics were a let down. Sitting in the back, you wouldnt know your in something 'special'.

Looks a bit odd, maybe get used to it though.
The new Impreza STI in the latest Evo actually looked not too bad with the wider arches etc.
Whats an SST gearbox? Like DSG?

Exactly that. They claim to have taken the DSG theory idea and made a 30% improvement.

Sounds good.
Does it allow full control when in manual mode as I think thats the VAG DSGs main downfall - you are never fully in control, it changes up for you if it thinks you've forgotten to which you dont always want...

Hmm, i don't know - the rear lights look like they are from a Seat Cordoba/Ibiza but the front looks good. The new impreza does look like a Proton, but when it's all rallyed - up i think it looks rather fetching:

you cant take a scooby rally car, and compare it to a road evo and say it looks better lol

The new impreza shape has grown on me for some reason. Though i don't like the clear rear lights. I would like to see what the WRC evo will look like.
