So pissed off its unbelieveable! Been suffereing badly over the past 6-12 months with allergic reaction, swelling of the face, rashes etc. Tried narrowing the source down through food diarys etc with no luck. Aslo have to keep having time of work, a day every couple of weeks and am near to loosing my job with anymore time off.
Been having constant visits to the Docs who just pescribes me tablets to numb the effects but they make me drowsy, are a ball ache to take everyday and do fuck all.
Finally last week he refers me to the hospital for a skin test to find out the source, only to hear from him today that the NHS have cancelled my appointment as they wont pay for my test. My only other option is to see a spacialist at £120-150 a time! WTF do i pay tax's for, the NHS cant even pay £100 for a test after all the money ive given to them?

who cancelled the apointment the hospital? Kick up a fuss and go talk to your doctor again. There should be no reason why it cant be done on the the NHS.
If they dont know what is causing the reactions the skin prick test is what they should be doing next. So dont know why it was canceled

Couldnt really say, but if it was due to staffing etc it maybe down to the outspatients/ dermatolagy department.

I dont see the point in them having a dermatolagy dept if they dont allow patients to use it

also, after the 1/4 (i thinkits then) they cannot refuse to see you wherever you want to go. they have to see you at the hospital of your choice unless they do not possess the equipment to do so,and in that case they have to find you another

Are you for real? I have to pay for all the drugs they supply me! I have never used or needed any of the NHS's utilities in my life(which im thankful for) but just assumed they would be there when i need them. £100 to the NHS is nothing compared to £100 from my wages, especially when they take double this from my wages each month.
Its £100 a time to see a specialist and i may need to make mulitple visits, id quite hapily pay and no doubt will have no choice, the point is that im contributing towards somthing each year that benifits others rather than myself.

Leek moorlands and i live 10 mins outside of leek, i even got confirmation of the appointment though the post along with a call to say the 'co-ordinator' feels i am an 'inapproperiate' refferal, which is weird as my GP wouldnt have reffered me if this was the case.

They should scrap the NHS. Nobody values it. A lot of drugs cost a hell of a lot more than £6.85.
