Anyone on here doing the Cambridge Diet?

It basically consists of having 3 shakes a day (made with water), and 4 litres of water, and no food whatsoever.

They say that the shakes contain 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vitamins, minerals, etc but only contain 137cals each.

Been doing it for 3 weeks and lost 1 stone 5lb....

just wondered if anyone else had tried it and what they thought of it...

Sounds like a laugh riot

There's no way I couldn't have something solid to eat for even a day, nevermind 3 weeks

Diets are stupid. Unless we're talking about the healthy balanced kind.

That sounds like the kind of diet where the first time you start eating again, you'll just pile all the weight back on.

yeah that can happen but you intoduce food again slowly when you get near the weight you want to be, like start by eating one meal of fish or chicken and salad/veg a day and slowly build up.....

tis hard but very good, dropped 7lb this week! I'm not even that fat

Sounds like a diet on the bodybuilders.com site. keta something diet its called on there.

Basically you should have only protein shakes with 1 GOOD meal once a wekk. But ste, unsure if your aware, but this diet is strictly for a short amunt of time only. Can't remember if its 4 weeks or 6. As it can harm you after that. Like you say tho, then you re-introduce good foods slowly

don't you still get hungry?
or is that a random body function that tells you you need nutrients and not a fuller stomach?

eating is a chore for me, and i'd often thought i'd just take a pill if it could sustain you and give enough energy etc. I'd do the shake thing occasionally provided you didn't still feel starving after you'd had your dose.

Another fad diet, that amount of calories = alot of muscle loss so you'll just end up looking like an anorexic fag.

Not even a child can survive on 400 cals a day, its insane. As soon as food is introduced then boom the weight piles back on, no matter how slow you do it. Your metabolism is getting fucked, it won't be able to cope.

Ryan, its called ketogenic diets and its different to these as alot of them still include food and the right nutritients etc. This is more similar to the diet that people did in the USA which consisted of 5/6 shakes a day, the Velocity diet.

A full grown man needs 4,000kals per day.
Your selling yourself short and you will be ill.

Food and muscle, by the time you've finished your diet you'll have hardly any muscle, and the food you eat will pile the pounds back on. Its going to be the most expensive fad ever.

I've just googled it and im reading the dribble on the website.

137 cals per meal, its fucking crazy! On the front page its got some woman who has the record of 24st fat loss... if she was 30+ stone in the first place any type of walking or cut shit out of the diet would of resulted in that. God these websites make me so angry

I seriously haven't got time for exercise, work full-time, uni part-time, still renovating my house and have a 1 year old lad so couldn't possibly fit in gonna the gym.

I don't eat a lot, just probably the wrong stuff so I wanted a quick fix to lose excess weight then start eating healthy again - and it is working which is why I keep doing it.

Just worried I will put it back on when I eat again....may start having fuit throughout the day as well to get my body used to having the odd bit of food again

Looks like a stupid diet IMO. So you're functioning on about 400 calories a day? Your metabolism will have shut down.

As for supplements to aid in fat-loss and metabolism give Green tea extract a go. It's an awesome natural herb containing EGCG and caffeine. Also, look into ALCAR.

tis all about changing eating habits, once i lose my weight i will be A LOT more concious of what I eat/drink whereas a couple of weeks ago I didn't really think.

Beer was my main problem as I drink far too much. Not had a drop in over 3 weeks and it hasn't even bothered me!
