If you want as close as possible why don't you just get the colour matched.

I gather I could just take the wheel into the local paint shop and get them to get the code? Assuming they will charge me for this service?

Are they OZ wheels? I'd suggest getting in touch with them to find out the colour code. Otherwise if you take them to a bodyshop or whoever is doing the work, they should be able to match up the paint fairly well.
A paint supplier might be able to give you the colour code too...

OZ wouldn't or couldn't give out the code the last time I tried that, as I got the guy at the paintshop to ring them. I settled with another colour, but can't for the life of me remember what it was

I wouldn't be getting the paint matched up though, I just need a code to tell the guy doing the wheels.
Have emailed Prodrive to see if they can help

Probably paint and clear. Though you can get metallic powder coat.

my wheels are sprayed, by a bodyshop and the finish is very good, but its very weak too, im getting small chips from stones kicking off the road, and knocking with a brace causes the paint round the bolt hole to chip easily

i understand but usually a paint company can mix any paint to make a 99% or so match.

Hi Andy
I have spoken to our technical guy and he has given me a code but he stresses that the colour may be different to your wheels:-
7E80369 glossy clear coat 5k20015
If I could make a suggestion I have had lots of dealings with the P1 owners club I'm sure if you go onto their web site they could help even give you a name of a local person who could refurbish them for you.
Good luck
Regards
Jackie
