I had a 172 Cup which are pretty sparse anyway and I found the build quality pretty good tbh, would have another.

Ive been to look at a few 182's, miles ahead of saxos and 106's

The doors actually clunk close rather then just rattle into the bodywork

I was just a tad unsure, as my saxo seems to generate a new creek or squeek every week now.

I've got a Saxo VTR and a 182 on the drive way and yes MILES

You can tell they are french when you get inside but personally I think it adds to the charm of the car.

I went from a comfy Astra GSi to a 182 and it is obvious there is a difference but it is more than livable with the fact I now have Auto lights, climate, rain sensor wipers which my Astra GSi never had.

At the end of the day its all down to preference and what you are used to

Why would you want auto lights?

Get in car, switch sidelights (Day) and headlights (night).

Rain sensitive wipers? Move a stalk. Lazy mofo

I dont like those kinda gadgets. Can you over-ride them/pull out the fuse

I thought the question was about build quality, not grades of plastic?

Nah just pointing out they are not as bad as people make out!

I do 600 plus miles in mine a week so find it quite easy to live with.

what do you think makes build quality you prat, the quality of the materials and how well they are put together, are you telling me a car which is made from polystyrene that had been put together well would be well built?

Verbal insult Ok.

Although, I could have given a response to the thread question.
I have a 172 sat on the driveway now. Build quality is ok, rattles more than I would like. Overall I would say that the quality of build year for year against a VTR (52 vs. 52), is almost identical, not miles better.
