yep they are also 5 speed, and have smaller brakes compared to the GTi6/ Rallye. Even though it has a bit less power than the GTi 6 its not far behind in performance, due to weight such as the 6 speed box on the GTi6 and air con.
Forgot to say it was the predecessor to the GTi 6 but in Europe it stayed as the S16 only in the Uk was it known as GTi-6

they have problems with cambelts, heads and headgaskets from what i gather, may be slightly wrong. but check in the history for any previous headwork etc. IIRC there are alot of poorly repaired ones out there.
There is even a specialist guy on one of the forums that is a guru in rebuilding heads for them as its that bad. lol
But otherwise, i like them alot, look great and handle well, good little package of a car
