I have a chance of getting one of these reasonably cheap and in great condition, any one had any experience with them?
Only thing that worries me is the car is currently on 100k mileage but has FSH

100k is nothing.
Its German not a vauxhall

What reg is it? If it's an older CLK, know as a 208 then there is plenty of things that go wrong with them....some of which can be expensive.I wouldn't worry about the engine...it'll be fine. It's the car around it thats the problem.

Suspension components are bad for wearing, body work rusting, boot lock siezing, oil in the engine wiring loom, air mass meters gearslector modules(auto) but thats the most common things...doens't mean they're all goingto happen!
Other than that, ok car.

my boss is still rocking about in a g plate 190e with 270k on it.
was given it as a freebie about 4 years ago, but it just keeps sailing through mots
