i got my car 1.4 sport last year. I came with a shit £10 'induction kit' that use to bog down at low revs, and a scorpian cat back exhaust. I found it to be quiet economical even when full throttle 50% of the time (young). Now i then put a ram air carbon kit on, which made it rev cleaner (not worth money) and added a decat as my cat has rusted away. And i seem to be doing the same mpg now driving sensible, shifting at low revs, keeping to speed limit, as then with alot of full throttle before the changes!

Does having a decat make the car more uneconomical? Does it effect the ectotec shite?

Ive bin monitoring this for a while, and it seems that MPG doesnt varify that often any more, even if been driving spritedly, or like a grandad (2-3 miles)

Im getting tight as fuck with fuel i no cheers

Litres X 0.22 = gallon

Then miles / gallon = MPG

Found this with my Corsa too. Used around the same fuel with a straight through exhaust and cone air filter.

Pug on the other hand has a mind of it's own when it comes to fuel consumption

i've had the same, pre modding it was 450 regular per tank, with IK it went down slightly but i think that was more due to my heavy right foot enjoying the sound more than anything. again noticed it with the backbox but heavy right foot to be blame. since i had straight through and have a sensible driving then i see no difference whats so ever, still get 420miles a tank!

Straight through slows you down. A good friend has straight through pipe from manifold on his 106 QS and from 4k use to die off the power like a diesel he had a centre box put on last week and it now pulls hard to the redline!
