I know this shoud probs be somewhere else but i need advice quick cause ill be going down to Halfrauds soon.
I bought a DV710 in car CD/DVD Player in May 07 (7months old) and paid a hefty sum of £349.99
Over the 7 months i have owned it, it started to skip CD's, which am sure you all know is annoying. So on 15/12/07 i sent it away for repair via Halfords. Then got it back on around the 12/01/08.
Still doing the same thing, went back, complained, manager said they will send it away again, if it still isnt right, he will happily replace it. So on 17/01/08 off it goes again. Got it back other day, 28/01/08.
STILL broken. Went in, manager wasnt in, spoke to assistant manager, hes saying the best they can do is give me the same stereo again, which is now down in price to £149.99
Am i in my rights to refuse this, and demand i want either £349.99 cash back, or £349.99's worth of stereo?
Just want to know where i stand with this?

Do you still have the origanal reciept? Is it Wakie Halfords you've been to?

yeh your intitled to a full refund of 349.99
they can offer you the same one in replacement obviously and they should offer you a alternative for a similar price.
but yeah your well within your rights to have a full refund

Cool cheers for quick replies. I think there trying to fob me off with the same one becuase im young, and not going to know my rights or argue back. Its rediculous, why would i want the same one that is obviously shit and just breaks. And ive been without a stereo since 15th December

Is that the one right next to Burger king? If so i know the manager. I used to work with him. He's call shaun.
Just keep at him, kick up a fuss, and i'd go for a better unit at the £350 that your paid.

Just had a call from Mick the assistant manager, hes spoken to Dave the manager and the best they can do is give me the same stereo just because i dont have a box?? Is this right? Im going to go get my mates box from his stereo and take it back. There going to get such a fucking doing! ARGHHH!!!!

Instead. So i got it. Fitted it earlier, its ace. Just havent fitted iPod connection cause i dont have an iPod, all bluetoothed up to my phone though for audio playing and handsfree
