Good basis for a project.

Seeing as your young, im "assuming" funds will be limited.

Word of advice, use this site for ADVICE (not gospel!!!!!). Pick up tips and hints to do cheap but effective modifications.

Quality items will look/last/perform much better than budget cheapo rubbish.

Lowering springs.
Some nice wheels (keep small, will be a much better drive, which is better than "looking cool" to the Fast Car generation....).

Things like tinted lights front and rear, grill, little touches here and there.

Bodywork only causes grief.

Good basis for a project, don't be a wannabe race driver though and bin it.

Oh, ditch those mirrors too, very boyracer

Cheap effective mods

STRIP IT INSIDE. It'll accelerate quicker, handle better, stop better (less weight) all for the cost of a few hours taking bits out. Don't be a taxi for everyone else

seems a bit pointless stripping out a 1.0 to be fair, unless a bigger engine is being fitted which I doubt due to insurance.

looks clean mate, imo and most of the others on here mirrors have got to come off

prehaps swap the trim and seats inside for a gsi or sri trim.

most of the mods that we do on here are cheap and effective, some can even be found on ebay/ your local scrap!

fast car mods can be expensive, look tatty, dont always fit right, brake... the list is endless my friend

but you made the first right step! signing up to a website about your car people will drill the knowledge into your head

welcome to cs mate and enjoy your stay

nice basecar project! there's lots of cheap mods for a first car.
personally i would always start with sum wheels, u can pik a nice set up for £150 these days, classifed on here, ebay etc. then lowering comes next! around £50 for the set stuff like a badgeless grill then around £20, maybe smoked repeaters £10. then ure on a way to a nice little motor!
lots of good advice on here anyways mate!

What I did with mine:

Removed tyres
Rubbed down with 120 grit wet and dry till smooth.
cleaned with turps, wiped off.
Made sure wheels were clean and free of dust/dirt
2 coats primer (15 min intervals)left 24 hours lightly rubbed down with 800 grit wet and dry till smooth
2 coats gloss black (15 min intervals) from halfords left 24 hours.
2 Coats laquer (15 min intervals) left for 2 weeks for curing of laquer before I get tyres fitted.

Hope this helps

why do people say dont strip out a 12v its only a 1l only do it if you have a let or xe surely its more effective (as affective as it can be) in a smalle engine as they have got to wrok harder any way the less weight the better wouldnt of thort it would make a shit of diffrence in a big engine car
