took from a rangers forum i use.
its certainly making me think,i dont like the idea of being a donor but i think i will stop being selfish and sign up
On Saturday my great friend whom i have been going to Ibrox with for years, very strangely never turned up for the St Mirren game , and believe me it was a VERY strange occurrence.
So after trying to contact him without a reply i walked to Ibrox alone after my usual drink along the pubs of the P.R.W .
Texed him a few times to tell him what a game he was missing ( which it wasnt ) and headed home.
Then on sunday i got a call which shook me to the core , my great friend comrade had taken a massive brain hemorrhage and i was to go to the hospital immediately to say my goodbyes.
I had put my Rangers top on when I went to see him for the last time , and my last words were no surrender. He passed away early monday morning.
He was a registered organ donor and eight people benefited from his generosity.
I urge all gers fans to register as a donor.
The nurse told me such donors are very scarce..
SO PLEASE REGISTER
http://www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/h...me_a_donor.jsp
I am totally devastated , he was only 35.
R.I.P Big Gary.
Don't die in vain , he never.

I'm wanting my body to go to Science or seperated to whoever needs it.
Whats the point in wasting important organs, burning them or letting worms eat them

If your in a coma and your a donor, they have to remove your organs whilst your still alive. That is what puts me off. How do you know you don't feel it?

Donna made a really good point the other day about being a doner. I carry a doner card, always have. I also don't believe in god or an afterlife, but also not ignorent enought to rule out an afterlife. She said some things that made me think.
IF (note IF) theres an afterlife, and your body needs to be with all its organs, your shooting yourself in the foot The egyptians believed in the afterlife so much, they built temples and toombes to carry everything they would need into the afterlife. Organs stored in jars along with all the material items. Things like this have always gone on through life.
Now IF there is an afterlife, would you want to take the risk of allowing your organs to be removed, thus ruining any chances, and prehapes being stuck in the "ghost" phase indefinatly (leading onto spirits, which again, is a possibility).
Now I don't believe in all this really, but theres still a part of me that thinks, "what if"?
Its made me think a little more about it.
I would give blood, but i think im a little high on THC for them to want it

Yeah we'll all be automatically put up for being a donar, to not be a donar you have to write up and ask to be removed from the list,

i hate the fact that i cant donate.
i had an operation when i was only a few months old way back in 1985. at the time blood was not screened, in hindsight a fault as at the time vCDJ (mad cow disease) was about and no guarantee could be given. it was my life or accept the blood transfusion that COULD be contaminated or so i'm told. the rest is history as im typing this now.
but the blood ppl wont take my bloody because i am a "potential carrier" and no tests can be run to determine if i am or not, they only know that symptoms can sit dormant for 30yrs or more.....watch this space!
for those who can i urge you to give bloody and sign the register. i gave 5pints on blood before ruling changed and it cost me nothing but 30mins of my day every 16weeks. it will cost you even less when the fateful days comes
do something amazing......save a life

i'm of the belief that i need to keep my organs, it's how god made me so it's how i should die.
good on people for being a donor though, i've just been brought up to believe otherwise

There are ways of monitoring brain activity.
I'm sure they would only do this if you were brain dead?

how does anyone know that you won't feel anything, someone once said when they are taking out the organs, whilst still alive, the body flinches.
