106 GTi's will beat the 2.0 8v Seats/Golfs etc
16v will beat the 106

Well I am purely going on my experiences.
I can beat the 2.0 8v's in mine, 106 GTI's can beat mine.
But I cant beat 2.0 16v's in mine so I guess they will beat 106 GTi's

There is hardly any difference in the 8v and 16v until 70mph where the 16v takes over.
Im not sure now

standard for standard it'd be similar.
Small money spent on the Gti (exhaust and filter) and it'll win, but probably same the other way.
Ibiza GTi remapped and it'll win.

I drove a 106 gti today. It was utter rubbish, but it was a ropey one to be fair.

curpa would have the edge on it for a straight line sprint I would say.
I have seen 106 gti's make a real 135+ bhp from minor mods though and they are rather light.

I have owned both, they are not on par at all
Best 0-60mph clocked on my corsa c16xe, stripped with inlet and 4 branch was 8.5 but i have made 7.74 in the ibiza with just a filter

Fair play, maybe i just assumed the 106 would be faster. But saying that, some people are saying "i have destroyed 106 GTIs round the track"
