well ive moved back into the parents house and was thinking about going to college, it dosent start till august so its a while away yet.

if i do go im gonna do the mechanics course, id have thought alot of people will have done this on here and im just looking for some views on the course.

these are the details on the course, its the first year btw

Course Content


Motor Vehicle pre-apprenticeship course, giving a broad, practical introduction to all the main motor vehicle systems including: Engines, Transmission, Brakes, Wheels, Tyres, Steering, Suspension, Fuel Ignition, Electrical, Electronic Control. The course also includes Enterprise Studies, Work Experience and the following core skills: Communication, Engineering Numeracy, Information Technology, Personal Effectiveness, Problem Solving

Location: Scottish Borders Campus, Galashiels

Entry Requirements


Subject to a satisfactory interview, references and 2 Standard Grades at Level 3.

Study Options Include


Full-time

Progression Opportunities


This course is generally considered as a pre-apprenticeship, with good opportunities to impress a potential employer, allowing the participant to return to College through employment to gain an SVQ.

Going to be doing it in august are you going day release to a garage or full time course???

full time course, dont think you can do day release on that course

Well the Careers scotland guy said to me i will be doing 3 days at college and 2 days at the employers

try and get an apprentership(sp) im in my first year at renault, even though at my local college they offered me to go straight to level 2 i went with renault because i get a job out of it and i go to a renault college too

The thing is i am not meant to leave school till i am 16 but since i am going in to employment i am allowed im going to Galashiels mate

sounds good but i couldnt see any of the garages my way doing that

i done that on purpose robin lol honest.

my car currently has the combat 2 kit, astra sport alloys (soon to be white) pipercross induction kit, and some random back box lol sounds good though

gonna tint the windows next and when i get a years ncb gonna xe it

Would look with a GSI/post 97 bumpers with the top gloss black and the arches Is that the backbox you can get from halfords because my mate has the same on his saxo

dunno about the backbox, got it from a mate.

when i xe it im gonna put either Gsi bumpers or post 97 and get a good splitter for it and and smooth it all off
